The Legion and Opus Dei both have serious financial and credibility interests for the Beatification of John Paul II

The popularity of "The American Idol" type television entertainment seeped into catholic circles
with it's own unique brand of the The Priest Idol. No, he isn't singing his way to the top, nor is he like the popular Saints of the Church. He is a unique phenomena that found his niche in the disenfranchised post Vatican Council II catholic society. He came out to lure the newest apparition devotees of the seventies and eighties, who reverted or converted to the Catholic Faith seeking solace from the sexually saturated hedonistic society. These people for the most part have been disenchanted with the religious entertainment that replaced the Mass and true devotions in many parishes. He blossomed amongst the Charismatics with his Healing Masses and his devotion to Our Lady and yet this was only just an image, no different from the movie and television images of the stars created by their Publicists.
Fr Kenneth Roberts comes to mind here, Playboy to Priest and alleged devotee of Medjugorje, whose numerous speaking engagements drew many back to their parish churches to the delight of parish accountants.
"Fr. Ken Roberts has been censured for purported acts of child
molestation. He is not allowed to wear clerical garb or to officiate
any of the sacraments. While he will always be a priest, his active
priesthood and ministry is over. I understand that much of the video
and audio material from his ministry has been destroyed. His books
are out of print and will not be republished."

Yet another priest comes to mind , Fr Stephano Gobbi
In reviewing the interior locutions of Fr. Stefano Gobbi, the writer asks himself, "If these alleged locutions had been claimed by a Roman Catholic lay person anywhere in the world, would the local Church authorities have accepted them or condemned them?" The sad answer to this question is, "They would have been rejected as not being divinely inspired because some of the content does not embrace Catholic beliefs." The question then remains, "Why has the clergy remained silent for 25 years by refusing to speak up against these false claims?"

Why Indeed?
A unique mix was being concocted for Catholics to drink despite a series of continual disillusionment with the priest idols!.Papolatry was thrown into the brew, seasoned generously by Maciel and his Legion ,Regnum Christi,Opus Dei and the other cult Movements in charge of bringing in this 'New Springtime' for the Church.
The Legion and Opus Dei both have serious financial and credibility interests for the Beatification of JPII. A mutual promotional existed between the late Pope in both these unusual non traditional organizations. It was known that Maciel's lay Regnum Christi were responsible for the heightened public relations and media hype surrounding the Pope's travels and visits. "John Paul II we love you!",was the encouraged chant directed by their member leaders.

Opus Dei former Secretary of State Cardinal Sodano is said to be the first to coin
the title ,"The Great" when John Paul II died.
But alas , even this Cardinal has fallen from grace in the eyes of many too.

As for the Legion and Maciel?
Well that is a uniquely ongoing hideous horror in and of itself that has lasted for decades despite his close friendship with ,'The Great" one.His fall from grace in the new world of clerical idol worship opened the floodgates of realization for many Catholics, while confusing still more.

I am continually surprised by the naivete of so many good willed pious people. The most recent scandal to rock the collective idol worshipers is that of the former President of HLI.
A self promoted Exorcist and Pro life defender whose books were sold through the Opus affiliated Ignatius Press. He also fell from grace and was outed by a blogger he was once friends with.
"This whole Euteneuer scandal has soured me to celebrity priests, (celebrity Catholics in general), and priests who do their own thing and don't seem accountable to anyone but themselves. It's truly, truly frightening to me! Let's not get into the Bishops? Where are they? Why don't they have to say Mass regularly? Why aren't they down on the ground with their people? To whom do they have to report about their own personal lives?" The blogger last queried on her now "removed" blog site. She was termed a "'crackpot" by her former friend and "celebrity priest".

Clueless as to the inner workings of the Romanitas ,I can guarantee that many of these same self admitted disillusioned people will be chanting during the Beatification of Pope John Paul II on May 1st of this year, "John Paul II.We love You!" Hopefully, some are awakening to the fact that historical allegiance to the Magisterium does not necessarily mean ALL Bishops or priests, or even to one Pope in particular.Especially the "Rock Star" clerics. One blogger admits "confusion" with the planned canonization after leaving Maciel's.Papal approved Lay cult Regnum Christi.

"The Vatican also claims that canonization is not intended to approve all actions that John Paul took as pope. But part of fulfilling the will of God is fulfilling the duties of our state of life – and in John Paul’s case it was the governance of the church. His errors were not of the order of allowing mismanagement of the Vatican Bank or of making ill-advised episcopal appointments. His errors were ignoring the suffering of abuse victims and refusing to rid the church of the culture of sexual molestation. John Paul called Maciel, a drug addict, incestuous child molester and thief “an efficacious guide to youth. I confess to very mixed feelings about this."

My dear Catholic friends and enemies alike .WAKE UP!
Our Faith is based on Scripture and Tradition both of which are held by the TRUE Magisterium.
When in confusion KNOW THIS You have the graces and right instinct to know what is right and good for your individual children. You do not need a priest to tell you Harry Potter is bad or good to read for your children. You do not even need a cleric to tell you abortion or sodomy are mortal sins.( The latter you will be hard pressed to hear these days from any pulpit or even the Vatican, in that explicit terminology) You know this! You do not need the Vatican School of Bioethics ( run by the Legion of Christ) to tell you is GMO foods are good or bad for your health. You KNOW lying is sinful. You know Christ is God and came in the flesh suffered died and arose for your sins.you know you need to pray for your enemies. You know you forgive them but that does not mean you need to bring them back into your inner circle of friends if they continue to disturb your peace and that of your family.
Follow the advice of St Vincent of Lerins , and stop the division amongst yourselves.Keep your homes Domestic Churches.Crown Our Lady as it's Queen and Pray the rosary and for the Consecration as She asked to be done at Fatima. Pray for as Bl Emmerick stated ,".... the church of darkness to leave Rome." and an end to the confusion which plagues so many! Pray for the rock stars of clerical pride and profit and pray for their victims and please pray for me the first amongst sinners.
From Chapter 4 of the Commonitorium
A.D. 434
[ed. Moxon, Cambridge Patristic Texts] *
(1) I have continually given the greatest pains and diligence to inquiring, from the greatest possible number of men outstanding in holiness and in doctrine, how I can secure a kind of fixed and, as it were, general and guiding principle for distinguishing the true Catholic Faith from the degraded falsehoods of heresy. And the answer that I receive is always to this effect; that if I wish, or indeed if anyone wishes, to detect the deceits of heretics that arise and to avoid their snares and to keep healthy and sound in a healthy faith, we ought, with the Lord's help, to fortify our faith in a twofold manner, firstly, that is, by the authority of God's Law, then by the tradition of the Catholic Church.
(2) Here, it may be, someone will ask, Since the canon of Scripture is complete, and is in itself abundantly sufficient, what need is there to join to it the interpretation of the Church? The answer is that because of the very depth of Scripture all men do not place one identical interpretation upon it. The statements of the same writer are explained by different men in different ways, so much so that it seems almost possible to extract from it as many opinions as there are men. Novatian expounds in one way, Sabellius in another, Donatus in another, Arius, Eunomius and Macedonius in another, Photinus, Apollinaris and Priscillian in another, Jovinian, Pelagius and Caelestius in another, and latterly Nestorius in another. Therefore, because of the intricacies of error, which is so multiform, there is great need for the laying down of a rule for the exposition of Prophets and Apostles in accordance with the standard of the interpretation of the Church Catholic.
(3) Now in the Catholic Church itself we take the greatest care to hold that which has been believed everywhere, always and by all. That is truly and properly 'Catholic,' as is shown by the very force and meaning of the word, which comprehends everything almost universally. We shall hold to this rule if we follow universality [i.e. oecumenicity], antiquity, and consent. We shall follow universality if we acknowledge that one Faith to be true which the whole Church throughout the world confesses; antiquity if we in no wise depart from those interpretations which it is clear that our ancestors and fathers proclaimed; consent, if in antiquity itself we keep following the definitions and opinions of all, or certainly nearly all, bishops and doctors alike.
(4) What then will the Catholic Christian do, if a small part of the Church has cut itself off from the communion of the universal Faith? The answer is sure. He will prefer the healthiness of the whole body to the morbid and corrupt limb. But what if some novel contagion try to infect the whole Church, and not merely a tiny part of it? Then he will take care to cleave to antiquity, which cannot now be led astray by any deceit of novelty. What if in antiquity itself two or three men, or it may be a city, or even a whole province be detected in error? Then he will take the greatest care to prefer the decrees of the ancient General Councils, if there are such, to the irresponsible ignorance of a few men. But what if some error arises regarding which nothing of this sort is to be found? Then he must do his best to compare the opinions of the Fathers and inquire their meaning, provided always that, though they belonged to diverse times and places, they yet continued in the faith and communion of the one Catholic Church; and let them be teachers approved and outstanding. And whatever he shall find to have been held, approved and taught, not by one or two only but by all equally and with one consent, openly, frequently, and persistently, let him take this as to be held by him without the slightest hesitation.
